People v. Gomez, et. al.

In 2021, Marc represented a client in Los Angeles Superior Court who was charged with kidnapping to commit robbery, which carries a mandatory life sentence upon conviction. After the preliminary hearing the case was dismissed. Client was held on $1 million bail. When the Court refused to reduce bail, Marc refused to waive time and a preliminary hearing was held within the statutory time period. At the preliminary hearing Marc was able to use video, broken down frame by frame, to show the Court that law enforcement arrested the wrong man despite an eye witness identification. Following the preliminary hearing bail was reduced to $30,000 and client was released. Shortly after the preliminary hearing the People dismissed the case.
