United States v. Martinez
In 2020, the Federal Court appointed Marc to represent client. On February 23, 2021, the court, over the government’s objection, granted Marc’s motion for compassionate release of his client who had served 102 months of a 262 month sentence. Client had been convicted in federal court of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced in 2012. Client had the following prior convictions: (1) in 2000 a federal conviction for conspiracy to produce false U.S. identification documents; (2) in 2004 a federal conviction for conspiracy to produce false U.S. identification documents and being a deported alien found in the United States; and (3) in 2008 a state conviction for possession of methamphetamine for sale.
